Godfather(mother) are two people (close to the parents - relatives or friends) who play a role in the baptization ceremony (originally). The bond between Godfather(mother) and child is of a more sentimental kind and manifests often by thinks like the child being invited for holidays, getting presents at birthdays and New Year.
