They dropped directly supporting usenet about 3 years ago +/-, but replaced it with a 3d party newsgroup provider at no additional subscriber cost. Their cable and DSL rates are competitive, as are their dialup rates (anybody actually _do_ dialup, these days? Must be some folks who must,I suppose). On the flip side, ELNK has some annoying bad habits, like gratuitous changes to personal home pages, an infuriating support structure, and level 1 support folks who can't pour water out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel (about what I gather the Ancestry level 1 support staff is like.) Overall, on a scale of 1-10, I'd give 'em a 7.5, an 8.0 on a good day. All y'all might want to check 'em out .. tell 'em Groucho sent you. (un)Salesman-like Ol' Bob -- Robert G. lol, yes there are some who actually do dial up still. I know a guy in eastern missouri who does. plays world of warcraft on it too. not much but does play. And what's more, these people think the caller knows less than they do. "What are the DNS Server addresses?" "Which version of Windows are you running?" "None, I use Mac. But that has nothing to do with the DNS server address." "Is it 95 or 98? What did you see when you ran the set-up program?" "I didn't run it--it's a Windows program, and I use Mac." "You need to put in your CD and the set-up will run automatically." Yes, that was long ago, and most of them now know that Windows isn't the only game in town. But I suspect the support is still similar--that's pretty much industry standard. -- Wes Groleau Teacher Tip: Personalize Exercises http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/russell?itemid=1474
