[...] Back in the 1950s the media took a "how sweet" attitude when a young Hungarian refugee married couple (wife under 16, husband just above, if I recollect correctly) had their baby baptised in the UK. As I remember it, the main point about Jerry Lee Lewis was that he could have left his wife behind rather than flaunting her, even after he had been told that intercourse with her in the UK was against the law. And it was not his fiirst marriage.
