    1. Re: How do I share?
    2. I use Rootsweb and I have elected not to show living people. I also do not allow downloads of my file. My tree started with every family that lived in my small community when I was growing up and its tentacles now reach out pretty far into surrounding communities through marriages over the generations. I have been contacted by several people, all a generation or two younger than I am, who have found relatives in my tree (and were ecstatic to do so!) and that was my reason for publishing it. My most recent contact was about a month ago. I was contacted by someone who found her grandmother in my tree. "Grandma" was probably 10+ years older than I, but I remember her well from when I was a kid. I put the young lady in touch with her grandma's first cousin, my telephone buddy who grew up with me. This young lady and her sister are thrilled since I gave them an actual, living, cousin they could telephone and ask questions. Someone who knew both their great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother well. I encouraged them to call her since I know she's the one with the family stories, because she has told me so. One sister has telephoned. Every time someone just getting started in genealogy finds my "stuff" it makes the sharing worthwhile.
