rootsweb.com is a start. Google the surnames you are seeking and +genealogy Check your library. They may have heritagequest and ancestry available via your library card. In my system, I can access HQ from home. I have to be in the library to get Ancestry. Also, in this case, I agree with the crowd, in that it seems somewhat unethical to be tired of "pay per month" websites when you will be charging money for family tree classes on your website. The two things tend to be mutually exclusive, given that accuracy takes time and therefore, money to produce.
