No filters, no batch download and read off-line, etc. Many share your opinion. Many also know that Google Groups is the source of tons of junk/spam, and the source of lots of bad habits like failing to quote *any* of the relevant portions of articles when responding, etc., and they therefore filter out *all* such articles. AT&T is touting upcoming changes in their Email service - to be powered by Yahoo. They don't say, but does Yahoo have a paid subs for newsgroups and that is why AT&T is dropping what they currently provide as part of their service? Just wondering. Henry

After much procrastination I finally decided to backup my family files to CD. Unfortunately FTM Version 11 did not recognize my HP Writer. I had to use Sonic RecordNow outside of the program. What I got was a CD of my files that were Read-Only. Questions: I'm gonna upgrade to FTM2009. Will 2009 install over Version 11 and keep my files intact or will the slate be clean? If the latter will I be able to use my Read-0nly CD backup to restore my files to the new FTM2009. Many thanks. Gary
