I hope to submit an article of my ancestors as related to Sumter County. We have brief writings of their travel in a caravan of 100 white people and slaves in a wagon train from Virginia to Sumter in Sept. of 1837. They include the Hutchinsons, Lancasters, McKnights, Sprotts, Curry, and more. But it will be a while yet.
