What is Heritage Book?

The Sumter County Heritage Book is called that simply because of the publishers. There is a series of books being published one at a time on each county in the state of Alabama. The book will be composed of articles submitted by anyone, concerning histories of families in Sumter County, histories of area towns, schools, churches, etc. The list is endless. You can submit an article up to 500 words to be published for FREE. (There is a charge for more than that.) The books are $50.00 each plus $4.00 tax, for a total of $54.00. If you would like the book mailed to you, there is a shipping & handling charge of $5.00, making the total $59.00. For an extra $5.00, you can have your name printed in gold on the front cover (max. 25 letters/spaces), for a total of $64.00. Books may be ordered any time directly from the Sumter County Heritage Book Committee. (checks made to that committee also, or Visa/MasterCard accepted). I'll have to find the correct address to mail payment or submissions for the book.
