I have records of some 200+ elections in Sumter County during the early to mid 1800s that show an S. M. Adams voted at Gainesville twice in 1861. No record of a Sol, Saul or S. Adams voting anywhere else in the county. While this may be helpful in determining where Sol or Saul Adams lived, please keep in mind that these records are not complete. There were, obviously, many more elections in the county from which we have no record. A John Rogers lives at Gainesville now. He is descended from the earliest Rogers to inhabit the county.
