Dear "Listers", The contact person for the Heritage book is Charles Walker, 995 Walker Rd, York, AL 36925. I found the info in the Odum Genealogical publication out of Moultrie, GA. I no longer have it, but most libraries do. His phone # was in there (though I am sure it would be easy to get from Information); I called him; and he send me the brochure. The original cutoff was Jan 31, 2000, but it has apparently changed. The Odum magazine showed Aug 31 and Mr. Walker confirmed. >From the brochure: "We invite all residents, former residents, and those with roots in Sumter County to submit a family household history of 500 words and one photograph to be printed free!" You need to call or write Mr. Walker for the brochure which has the FULL details, i.e., if your ancestors were there before 1890 you are allowed another 500 words of pioneer history and another photograph.
