I know that the deadline for submitting articles for __The Heritage of Sumter County, Alabama__ book was January 31, 2000. The Sumter Co Heritage Book committee's brochure last year had shown that the book was "Currently scheduled to be published in Fall 2000." Can anyone on our Sumter Co List give any update or status report on the committee's work, or the book? Some of us mailed in not only articles on our families, but also sent checks to order copies of the book. It is disconcerting that checks (mine & others I'm aware of) have not yet been deposited....
