I have obtained a copy of the index to the 1890 census of the US. There are only 6,160 entries that survived the fire of 1921. The index covers the following states: Alabama, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, and Texas.
