    3. Sandra Thanks for posting the 1850 Sumter Co., Mortuary Schedule. My great great grandfather John N. Brooks married Millicent Moore in Sumter Co., AL in 1838 and in the the 1840 census they had a boy, but this boy was not in the 1850 census. In late 1850 or early 1851 they moved to Newton Co., MS. If you every see a death listed for a young Brooks boy "between 1840 and 1850" would love to know about it. I think that John father was Benjamin, and if so I bet the boy could have been Benjamin. The second boy was named after his wife father and the third boy after himself.
