Ggggfa Daniel Greene bur. Parker Cem. died at 42 or 47 yrs. old-have in my folder; he was b. 1793 Old Greenville Dist. of S.C. but I don't have his wife Stacy's maiden name nor who their parents are. Does the paper go back to the 1820's and is it indexed to where I could find a marriage announcement? frances

Both these newspapers were written in Livingston, Alabama and cover Sumter County. I have personally used the microfilms for "Livingston Journal". They are poor quality and very hard to read, but they were good enough that I found what I was looking for. I called the archives and they told me which months of which years they had available and we went from there. They are very eager to help. Lois

Ella's parents might have been Walter SCOTT and Martha DRUMMOND. Robert I think had 5 brothers and sisters ( Eva and Robert lee (twins), Ernest, Rogers, and Mabel).     3. Is anyone researching the GREERS and/or the STEWARTS? They lived in Sumter and Greene Counties. There were two WILKS daughters, Mary married James Greer in 1836, and Martha married Dr. Robert H. Stewart in 1844. The sisters had a brother JOHN WESLEY WILKS. The Greers had three children that I know about: Aquilla A., b. 1837, Mary A., b. 1840 and Robert L., b. 1845. Mary Wilks Greer had died by the 1850 censuus. The Stewarts had two children that I know about: Mary P., b. 1845 and James E., b. 1848.     3. Thea, I wish I could be of more help, but that is all the information I have. The will states that the Cook Farm was located 4 miles east of Livingston, and after the death of the man who was writting the will, he wanted it to return to its original owner. There is no more information about it. It was originally owned by B G Cooke, but he had been dead for many years when the will was written in 1894. Lois

    3. Thea, Thanks for the look-ups. John Wilson, b1825, supposedly was a Circuit Judge and Postmaster in Baldwin Co., AL.. Supposedly born in England. John C. Wilson, worked for the RR in York, AL. Gussie DuBose was a dau of Middleton DuBose of Choctaw Co., AL. Gussie has 13 given names and "Gussie" was not one of them, but a nickname. We have no idea where they were married. I didn't find John Clarence WILSON or Gussie DUBOSE either. But because DUBOSE is a unique surname, I checked for other DUBOSE's and here's what I found Julia Ann DUBOSE to Louis EZELLE, lic dt 29 Jan 1890, marr dt 30 Jan 1890, book CO4, page 0099 Henry DUBOSE to Jennie BROWNING, lic dt 15 Aug 1877, there was no marr dt, book CO2, page 0365 Robert DUBOSE to Sudie TAYLOR, lic dt 27 Dec 1888, there was no marr dt-it was marked as not returned, book CO4, page 0014 I hope this information helps.
