    3. The Sumter County book hasn't been published yet. The cover is being designed and set as we speak. Stories continue to come in, and we certainly don't want to leave out any while the flow is steady. I'll try to update the list every so often about the progress. 3. Hello List, need some help if possible. Looking to find gg-grandmother Lucinda Parris b. 1827 d. 1901, any siblings and especially her parents. She married in Sumter County. Pursuant to the law in that day, a lady married in her home county. Would someone be so kind as to do a lookup? She married in 1845. Perhaps she is listed along with her parents on 1840 census. Many thanks in advance for any possible help. May y'all have a most blessed Christmas. Kim Jesus Is Lord Isaiah 41:10

I have suggested that they pre-sell copies on the internet. 1. [ALSUMTER] William EARP, in Sumter Co. area 1818-1842
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: EARP, WATKINS, McMILLAN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZS.2ADE/376 Message Board Post: We just returned from another research trip on which we stopped in Sumter and Marengo Counties AL to work on the William EARP who died there in late March 1842. This William EARP (spelled ARPS in Marr Bk.1:1) m. 7 May 1818 Marengo Co. AL to Matilda WATKINS, and had 3 children: Ichabod b. c1820, Elizabeth Ann b. c1822, and Matilda b. c1825. Matilda died before 1836 when William made his will, and he remarried about 1839 to Ellen (believed to be Ellender McMILLAN) and had 2 children: John Thomas b.1840 and Martha Ann b. Sept 1842. William acquired land in both Sumter and Marengo conties in 1837, was listed on the 1840 Sumter Co. AL census and then moved his family to Texas. He died in late March 1842 when on a trip back to AL, possibly to dispose of his property there. There are several court records regarding his estate on file in both Marengo and Sumter counties. Is anyone related to this line, or working on it? And - the big question - does anyone know the origins of this William EARP? Thanks for any help, Sharron Spencer
