Fisher was born in about 1876, at what I think was the Phillips Plantation. His mother was a slave, Nancy, his father was the plantation owner. Fisher and Hattie had 12 children, of which 3 are living today. I located a picture, at the courthouse a few years ago of 2 Phillips Plantations. One in Ashville, and the other in Oneonta I think. I know that one of the homes was owned by James Madison Phillips. Maybe this name will lead to something. They were brothers.
