He married CAROLINE ARANT TILL January 23, 1867 in Lowndes County, AL, daughter of JOHN TILL and MARTHA ARANT. She was born February 12, 1846 in Lowndes County, AL, and died May 18, 1902 in St Clair County, Ashville, AL. Notes for PERRY ROBERT MOORER: Perry R. was a Private in Alabama Company B, 24th Cavalry Battalion, CSA. (National Archive Microfilm Records: Box 000374, Extraction 0032, Record 00001778). He applied for the Relief of Needy Confederate Soldiers and Sailors, Residents of Alabama, who from wounds or other cause, are now unable to earn a livelihood by labor, under Act approved February 13th, 1891. Reads as follows: State of Alabama, County of St. Clair. Personally appeared before me, A. G. Watson, Judge of Probate in and for said County, Perry R. Moorer, who, being duly sworn, deposeth and saith that when a Private in company B of 24th Regiment of Alabama Volunteers and while in discharge of his duty on the 22d of July 1864, at Atlanta in the State of Georgia he was wounded in the left arm, which caused the amputation of same near the shoulder and in consequence of which loss of limb, he has been rendered physically incapable of making a livelihood by labor; that he was a resident of Alabama on the 13th day of February, 1891, and is a resident at the date of this application; that he is engaged in the business of farming that his taxable property does not exce! ed four hundred dollars in value, and that his salary and gross income does not amount to four hundred dollars per year.
