This obituary was taken from the St. Clair Times, Thursday August 17, 2006. Nancy C. Becton Pell City- Funeral service for Nancy C. Becton, 72, was Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hoover with Dr. Earl Tew officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Becton died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006. She retired from South Central Bell with 32 yrs of service. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Chruch in Hoover. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mable Anstead. She is survived by her husband, M.C. Becton; daughters, Jana Scott Doke and Nancy Gale Manfre; stepdaughters, Lisa Becton Kemp and Lori Becton Cathey; son Steven Earl Scott; step-son Thomas Kevin Becton; sister Sara Graham of Memphis TN; brother, Bobby L. Corbin of Logansville GA; 6 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.
