Luther Thomas Blythe Oneonta--Funeral services for Luther Thomas Blythe, 76, were Sunday, June 11 @ Lemley Chapel; Bro. James Nix and the Rev. Junior Berry officiated. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery. Luther Blythe died June 8 @ TLC Nursing Home. He was born in St. CLair Co. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church; lived in Blount Mtn. since the age of 5. Farmed 44 yrs; dedicated father of 8 children; wife with him until death. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was preceded in death by parents, Rev. Sameul Lloyd Blythe and Docia Alethia McCay Blythe; brothers, Grady , Lloyd, Robert, & Fred Blythe ; sister Irene Blythe; daughter Betty Campbell; grandchildren, Stephanie Campbell & Nathaniel Wayne Blythe & Silvia Blythe. He was survived by wife Bernice Blythe of Oneonta; sons, Chester Blythe, Gardendale; Tommy Blythe, Springville, Stanley Blythe, Blountsville, Rickey Blythe, Clanton; daughters Diann Reaves, Attalla; Judy Jacques, Holly Pond; Alethia Helton, Springville; Brothers Edward Emerson Blythe, Fort Payne; Earnest Sylvester Blythe, Springville; 19 grandchildren & four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Steve Lesley, Juria Hafer, Jonathan Helton, Adam Blackmon, Kevin Lesley, and Michael Lesley. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeff Blythe, Archie Lesley, Scott Robinson and Brain Hardin. Lemley Chapel in Oneonta directed the service.
