This obituary was in the St. Clair Times, St. Clair Co., AL., Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006. Josephine B. Kilgroe Pell City--Graveside service for Josephine B. Kilgroe, 94, was Thursday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Ford and the Rev. A.L. Courtney officiating. Mrs. Kilgroe passed away Tuesday, Sept 6, 2006. Mrs. Kilgroe, along with her late husband, Joe W. Kilgroe, was founder of Kilgroe Funeral Home in 1938. She was owner of Kilgroe's Antiques for more than 50 years. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, National Antique Dealer Association, and was a founding member of the Pell City Garden Club. She is survived by her son, Sonny (Jane) Kilgroe of Pell City; two nieces, Pat (Richard) Archer of Ragland and Linda (Dr. Tony) Dollar of Dothan. Pallbearers were Harry Charles McCoy, Reed Alexander, Judge Charles Robinson, Walter Ross Whitten, William L. Phillips Jr., William L. Phillips III, and Terry Wilson. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.
