This obituary was in the St. Clair Times, St. Clair Co., AL., Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006. Frances Ruth Smith Pell City--Frances Ruth Smith, 73, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006. Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. from Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Jacky Connell officiating. Interment will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her husband of 52 yrs, Johnny L. Smith; daughter, Donna Stapler; son, Michael Smith; sister, Doris Hogan; brother Fred Perriguey, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Known both as Fran and Mamaw, she was a loving wife and caring mother. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City directed the service.
