This obituary was taken from the St. Clair Times, Thursday September 28, 2006. Moody Funeral service for Elwood Edward Hamer, 75, was Saturday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds. Graveside service and burial was Sunday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at Forest Crest Cemetery. Mr. Hamer died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006. He served in the U.S. Navy in Korea for four years as Chief Petty Officer 3rd Class. He is survived by his wife of 52 yrs, Jo Johnson Hamer; daughter, Jada L. Hamer; son, Joel Edward Hamer; and grandchildren, Hillary Ann Hamer and Harley Lyle Hamer. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds directed the services.
