Have Langfords (Lankfords) that married into my family in St. Clair county alabama in 1830s. My family surname is Means. There was a large sibling group of Means that came to St. Clair county alabama from Tenn. Parents were Isabella Fields Means and Robert Means JR. Robert died in Rhea Tennesee in 1817 leaving Isabella with a large brood of young children, she ended up in St. Clair county alabama by early 1820s. Children included James Harvey who married Mary Bradford, Andrew Newton who married Elizabeth Bradford, Jane who married Jessee Edwards, Eliza who married jacob Bull, John G who married Jane Key, Isabella who married John Thomason, Margaret who married George Patrick and....Joseph who married Malinda langford. All marriages recorded in st clair alabama marriage records 1819-1853. Joseph married Malinda july 4, 1833. Malinda's birth place listed as south carolina. There are several langfords listed in st. clair county census records for around this time with birth places of georgia, south carolina and tenn. Not sure who is related to whom. Several of these siblings moved on to settle territory in Arkansas byt1850. Joseph and Malinda went for awhile, went back to alabama, and then settled in Montague Texas where they died.Don't know if any of this helps, I haven't been able to find out much about the langford/lankford link. sherrie lessans ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 28, 2006 9:14 AM Subject: [ALSTCLAI] Thomas Langford,Lankford > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: BOST,CHOAT,CHOATE,LANGFORD,LANKFORD,SEITZ,SITZ,SIDES. > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YS.2ADE/829 > > Message Board Post: > > Looking for info or connections to a Thomas Langford,Lankford brn abt 1780 NC,d,after 1850 TN or AL?. Hi Sherrie, Malinda LANGFORD was born in Alabama not South Carolina. Her parents, my GGG-grandparents, Champ LANGFORD and Elizabeth REED, were married in Haywood County, North Carolina on 16 Nov 1812 and were living in AL before 1813. Malinda was born 30 Apr 1813. I haven't been able to connect Champ with any other LANGFORDs (or Lankfords) in St. Clair County other than his brother, Berry LANGFORD. Can you tell me something about Joseph's parents and siblings? Also, the only child that I have born to Joseph and Malinda is William A. MEANS. And I have nothing about him other than his name. Did Joseph and Malinda have any other children?
