    2. Thanks for the information. I am not familiar with Pat Newton. This is just a beginning to me on this area of research. My grandfathers family was always a mystery to us. He never was allowed to be part of my dad's life. I located his WWI registration and it stated he was born in Coal City, AL The only other thing I know is his fathers name was William E Wright and he was also born in Alabama. If anyone knows how to get in touch with Pat Newton I would appreciate it. Thanks, Kathy Owens William F Wright b 12/1893

    3. The names don't ring a bell, sounds like the same story. Don't feel so lonesome I've been searching this Blakely family since 1985,there's probably connection to Georgia from another surname. I have found all my Blakely family on the census in St. Clair County,AL, hit a brickwall as far as other information. Let me look at my Blakely information and check on some things. If I find anything on your line I'll email you. I'll add you to my email list, there might be a connection to our families earlier on the line. 3. Ray, I don't know if this is anything but, my brickwall for many years is Mary Emma Blakely. She was born October 3, 1841 and died 13 July 1902. She married Noah Cooper Looney in Talladega County, Alabama 1 Seo 1859. Noah was born at Beaver Creek, Ashville, St Clair County, Alabama. I think Mary Emma was born in Georgia but had moved with her parents to St. Clair County. I don't have a clue who her parents were. Maybe there is a clue in the names of their children who were: Ruby, Nettie, Lula or Lydia, Viola, Eliza, Isobel, Claude and Emma. Do any of these names sound familiar? Any help appreciated. 1. Re: [ALSTCLAI] Abner Williamson marriage record
    2. Linda: Here are some marriages from St. Clair County Marriages 1818-1899: Williamson, Abner m. Elizabeth Jane Willingham 10 Mar 1853 (Consent of father, David Williamson) Leachman, F.M. m. Nancy Ann Williamson 23 May 1878 (Married at Ab Williamson's) Willingham, C. Washington m. Thelda Leechman 8 Nov 1878 Matthew Leachman is not listed. Rosanna Hudson is not listed; there are no Hudson brides at all in this book. There are almost two pages of Williamson and Willingham grooms, and about 35 or 40 brides, mostly Williamham. If you have other names, I will be glad to look for them. For what it may be worth, I happaned on this marriage: Bolton, John W. m. Williamson, Mary E. 10 Oct 1886 (Consent of bride's parents, Abner & Lebtine) I knew of a Leachman family in St. Clair County who moved there from New Merkle (now Cahaba Heights), Jefferson Co., AL., in the 1940's-50's, so you might find something in Jefferson County. I do not have any Jefferson County records. Hope this helps. Good Luck! Betty

    1. William White born abt 1827 m/Permelia ?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YS.2ADE/628 Message Board Post: Does anyone know anything about a William White born about 1827 married to Permelia and their children James, Martha, Bethilda 'Tillie' Manerva/Matilda, and Amanda. They are on the 1870 St Clair Co, Alabama Censusand the 1860 Blount County, Alabama Census and William was born in Georgia and Permelia was born in South Carolina - not sure of her last name but something like "Partman". The family moved from Georgia to Alabama before ending up in Texas. Son James E born 1849 in Georgia, married Margaret Copeland 1880 in Williamson Co, Tx. They had 5 boys: William Newton, James Andrew, Rufus Arthur; Wilford Carol & Ollie Ondus. They went to North Texas to pick up other family members (Margaret died here) before heading for Oklahoma, ending up in Washita County, OK where James E died Daughter Bethilda married John Dedmon - she was born 1853 near Atlanta, GA, they lived in North Texas before they moved to Elk City, OK where she & her husband died. One of the other girls married a Mr Brown. It is believed that they left Texas going into Oklahoma and died when crossing or camped by the flooded Red River - they were heading for Oklahoma to join the other family members William may have had stepbrothers - Jeff & Festus. I have a picture of all of them taken about 1929 Will really appreciate any information Sincerely, Jackie Mae (White) Bishop
