    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YS.2ADE/581.3.1 Message Board Post: I have received several responses but not specific enough. We know that George and Andrew were twins; I have found their names as having been married in St. Clair co.; no further info in census records however. My g-aunt said her father, Solomon Jasper Smith (S.J.), told her that "my father and brother(s?) were killed in a lightening strike." I searched for several years for verification and was blessed by a wonderful man-- who is not a Smith--, who sent me information he had found. S.J.'s mother's will was being probated by his brother, Francis, and an affidavit was included from a friend of William Smith's (her first husband, the boys' father) that "he (William) was killed in a lightening strike." There was no reference, however, to any one else being hit. So whose brother was it? William's or S.J.'s? We don't know and have not been able to find a newspaper article referring to it. The date of the lightening strike was April 9, 1865; is that a familiar date, or what? William was said to have served in the WBTS, but this family has a serious hereditary cataract condition. It's also possible he was actually considered a patriot and did not serve in the military, but was a! provider of food, etc., for the CSA. So he survives the war only to die the very day of the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse. Irony, eh? Thank you for replying. If any of this information will help you in ascertaining that these are the twins and/or family you have info, I will be happy to pay copy/postage costs to receive the info. Sandra Perry
