There was a large sibling group of Means that came to St. Clair county alabama from Tenn. Parents were Isabella Fields Means and Robert Means JR. Robert died in Rhea Tennesee in 1817 leaving Isabella with a large brood of young children, she ended up in St. Clair county alabama by early 1820s. Children included James Harvey who married Mary Bradford, Andrew Newton who married Elizabeth Bradford, Jane who married Jessee Edwards, Eliza who married jacob Bull, John G who married Jane Key, Isabella who married John Thomason, Margaret who married George Patrick and....Joseph who married Malinda langford. All marriages recorded in st clair alabama marriage records 1819-1853. Joseph married Malinda july 4, 1833. Malinda's birth place listed as south carolina. This obituary was in the St. Clair Times, St. Clair Co., AL., Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006. J.D. Macon Pell City--The Rev. J.D. Macon, 71, joined his Heavenly Father on Oct. 16, 2006. After a five year battle with cancer, he passed peacefully into eternity surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 19, at 12 p.m. from Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Ted St. John and the Rev. Archie Maddox officiating. Interment will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. J.D. was a beloved husband and father as well as a faithful servant of the Lord and a successful businessman. He was the former pastor of both Evening Star Baptist Church in Vincent and Second Baptist Church in Pell City. Rev. Macon also founded Maco Industries in Pell City in 1975 and ran the business until his recent passing. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Rev. Macon is survived by his wife, Clara Bice Macon; four children, Teresa (Gerald) Carr, Brenda LeVan, Angela (Greg) Brown, and Tommy Macon; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Anne) Carter, Krystal Carr, Amber LeVan, Lauren West, Natalie (Brandon) Mathers, Candace Carr, Matthew Brown, Kathy Brown, and Jacob Brown; two great grandchilden, Ava Carter and Macy mathews; four sisters, Ira Bella Trucks, Dorothy (Buck) Stewart, Dean (Brown) Dye, and Brenda (Jim) Ogle; and two brothers, Quinton (Mary Virginia) Macon and Bill (Peggy) Macon. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Bradley Carter. The family wishes to thank our friends and family for the many prayers and for the support during Rev. Macon's long illness. Pallbearers were Dennis Wilson, Greg Love, Lester Hallman, Don Coleman, Charlie England, and Alan Blakenship. Honorary pallbearers were Gary McBay, Jamey Cowden, Jim Martin, Charlie Head, Leland Venable, Ronnie Jenkins, and Del Jones. Lemley Chapel in Oneonta directed the service.

Buddy Jack Riddle Remlap--Funeral services for Buddy Jack Riddle, 75, were Wednesday, October 11 at 11 a.m. at Lemley Funeral Home in Oneonta with the Dr. Greg Corbin and Dr. Gary Fisher officiating. Burial was in Dailsy's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Riddle died October 8 at Medical Center East. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thorney Riddle and Oncie Mae Venible. He was a truck driver, a volunteer firefighter with the Trussville Fire Department of thirty years, and a member of First Baptist Church of Remlap.
