    3. I am shocked about this. We've been sharing information and helping one another for 17 years here. If you don't believe me, look at https://lists.rootsweb.com/hyperkitty/list/alsachat.rootsweb.com/2002/9/. Isn't that amazing? Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. I urge you to use them, especially because you can upload photos and other images to the boards, which are not available here on the list. We do have the option to create a list elsewhere, and I'm willing to do that. Groups.io and Google Groups seem the most likely option. Here is an example of a Groups.io mail list: https://groups.io/g/newzealand/ Google Groups: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/1720cowanimmigrant It seems like the private "Alsachat Gang" group on Facebook is taking the place of this lately. Is this the way we want it? *If you are interested, please respond*. If not, that's fine too. I'll miss you here, no matter what the future holds. 3. Valorie Good Morning and Happy New Year, It seems that the whole rootsweb is succumbing to erasing activity wishing instead to go to paid subscriptions. Wonderful. Hope you have a good year. When Ancestry acquired Rootsweb, they guaranteed that it would always be free. And it is. However, the way they were running the lists, they were mostly dying. I think this move will be good. Groups.io is modern and easy to use. We still have a private group there, as we do here, and have the option to link a Facebook page to us if we want. Go to https://alsace-lorraine.groups.io/g/Alsachat and see what you think!
