Hi Roland, RICHERT, RICHARD, REICHART, etc. is very very common throughout Germanic regions, as well as elsewhere (France, England...). There are indeed many RICHERT in the Sundgau, the southmost area of Alsace, where is Bouxwiller, Haut-Rhin. In a first view, I couldn't find the 1800 birth in the records of there; do you have a more precise date? Also lots of RICHERT, etc. in Bouxwiller, Bas-Rhin.
