Here is also one website that gives Jacob, as well as James, as an alternate for Jacques. <http://www.behindthename.com/names/usage/french/2> Unless you want to search the records of something like 2000 communities in the Alsace, you must do further research in the United States to locate a more specific Alsacien locality.
