I am looking for any information on the Bahler family who was from Alsace-Lorraine, came to the US in 1891 or 1892. The family inclues Bernard (born 1845) & his wife Magdalene (born 1845) their son Bernard (born 1891)daughter Anna (born 1885) & another daughter who married John Edel. I believe they first went to Youngstown Ohio and later settled in Olean, NY. Bernard & Magdalene and their son Bernard are all buried in St. Bonaventure's Cemetery in Allegheny, NY. Church records were destroyed in a fire but the church's records have the last name spelled as Boehler although the tombstones and all family records have it listed as Bahler. I have no proof of the family coming from Alsace-Lorraine, only what our family has been told. Anna Bahler is my great-grandmother. She married George Deuter. Census records from Olean, NY say that Anna's parents (Bernard & Magdalene) were German and the family arrived in the US in 1891 or 1892.
