    3. Dear Bonnie, Have you researched Palatinate genealogical resources? I am in no way any type of scholar nor knowledgeable with the Palatinate nor the region of Bavaria, however when I first read of the surnames you have listed, the names struck me as being from Ostfrielsland. In very general terms, Ostfriesland is in the North and Northwestern part of what is now Germany, along the Nord Sea; also going inward along the Ems River, et al . You can easily look this up on the Internet at Wikipedia or GenWiki. Other resources for such early immigrant ships to the colonial states and their passenger information have been: The German Society of Pennsylvania (organized since since 1764 in Philadelphia) http://www.germansociety.org/ Other possible resources are: The Pennsylvania German Society http://www.pgs.org/ -and- Palatines to America - German Genealogy Society Researching German-Speaking Ancestors http://www.palam.org/ As for another A-L Mail List letter I replied to, I also offer up these further links for research: ALSACE and LORRAINE - Other Resources (see bottom of the web page) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~valorie/Alsace-Lorraine-L.htm GedBas: Die genealogische Datenbasis Enter Surname in the Nachname field http://gedbas.genealogy.net/ GeoGen Surname mapping for Germany and Austria http://christoph.stoepel.net/geogen/en/Default.aspx Les Nomes de Famille http://www.geopatronyme.com/index.htmx GeneaNet http://www.geneanet.org/?lang=en RootsWeb's WorldConnect http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi Family History Library Catalog (for books and microfilm re. your ancestral surname) Choose "Surname Search" http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp Best of luck!
