Dear List Members, I am new to this list and I am hoping that I can find some information concerning my family. My family name is Serve.My Grandfather was Andreas [Andrew] Serve and he immigrated to the USA in - pass port date - 14 February 1888 from Cham Kolmberg Bavaria Germany. Two of his sisters came at a later date. Family legend, from families in Germany, has it that the original Serve - Johann Georg Serve - served in the war of Napoleon Bonaparte in about 1800. After which he lived in Bavaria and the family continues to live there even today. It is believed that the Serve name is French and that the original Serve may have came from the Alsace area. I am of the thinking that the name may be more Latin or Roman in origin. If there is anyone out there that would have information about the Serve and their origins, I would love to hear from you.
