This woman said she purchased it. I did have a conversation with her about whether she owned a reader, and she said she picked one up on eBay. She definitely purchased FHL records because she was the one who taught me how to find the records in the first place. It's been a few years, and I no longer have her e-mails and there weren't any records I was interested in purchasing at the time. Is it possible that an eBay seller was somehow duplicating FHL records on fiche or reels? I thought, however, she said that there was some way on the website to arrange for purchase. If you think you are going to have trouble disciphering, the LDS center probably has the equipment to print the documents you need on paper for a nominal fee - maybe 25cents a copy, then you can look at them for all the time you want. Microfilm rentals may be rented 2 more times (total of 3 consecutive rentals at US$5.50 + some FHCs also charge a handling charge) and, if the FHC has storage (local option), the microfilms can be placed on "indefinite rental" and permanently stored at the FHC (meaning may be used by any patron but they may not leave the FHC).
