There is no ONE answer to the question, since every email program is different -- and add in AOL too. If your program regularly doubles up the links, try selecting and right-clicking, and see if you have the possibility of sending as plain text. Other things you might try -- include or not the http:// part of the address, enclose it in carets < and >, or not, or try () and [] around it. Finally, try just the basic address, such as "Rootsweb.com" -- I rarely see those doubled. If that works, then try more, for instance: freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~valorie/Alsace-Lorraine-L.htm That's enough of this off-topic discussion for now.
