As for the second part of your question, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com , and use the advanced search. You can specify which list, which time period, poster's email address, etc. You can narrow your searches quite specifically. For more about how to use the Advanced Search, click the Search tips link.     3. Thanks, Valorie. I've been through the general archiver search, but it returned too many results. I scanned the "browse" feature in the A-L archives, but the message doesn't appear to be in there. The subject line was something like "Stop sending me these e-mails!" and it was sent to the group and to me. I can understand your not putting it in the archives, but what do you do with messages you don't include? Do you keep a file of them or do you simply delete them? I'm hoping I can get her e-mail address if she is a Hotmail or Comcast user and ask her to remove me from the spam list. I'll use a library computer to contact her. I certainly can't fix this myself. Here's the message I get from all MSN and Hotmail users: host mx1.hotmail.com [65.54.244.8]: 550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit http://postmaster.live.com for email delivery information and support This started immediately after that woman posted her message. I'm not active on other lists. I figured she was a newbie, didn't understand how the lists work and that the administrator would take care of it. So, I deleted her e-mail. I know it came at the time in December or January when the list was very active - around the time we were talking about "peanut gallery," etc. Is there a way of preventing this from happening in the future? I enjoy being contacted off list by members, but it isn't worth my losing the ability to communicate with family and friends.     3. this is a topic best left alone. Protestants have a lot of blood on their hands too-- killing Native Americans, for one. I doubt any group on earth is immune from slaughtering other groups.
