    2. Surnames:? Thiery, Metz, Bles, Delese All of the above were my grgr and grgrgrgrandparents from Alsace Lorraine. The names I know of are George Thiery, DOB abt 1831 - married Anna M. Ester Metz married Philip Thiery immigrated to America around 1891. Jean Pierre Bles married Suzanne Delese DOB? 3 Nov 1839, their daughter Mary Bles DOB 1874, immigrated thru Galveston Texas in 1881. If anything is familiar to anyone please contact me @ pmal69@aol.com. Any help in finding records for the above people will be greatly appreciated.

    3. Looking at http://www.genealogy.tm.fr/acte.htm if your grandparents were from Alsace Lorraine, the surname Thiery is most likely from the department des Vosges, Bles from Moselle. Metz is rather common in Alsace...
