Hi all I don't know if anyone on this list can help me, but I've been trying for several years to make contact with my French penfriend from my schooldays in the 1950s and 1960s. We lost touch after she moved about 40 years ago. Her name was Maryse Lehmann, but she may have married since we last made contact. She had a brother, Jean-Claude Lehmann, and they lived in Rue Pierson, Bischwiller, Bas-Rhin, fairly close to Strasbourg. Their father was a lawyer/solicitor who worked in Strasbourg, if I remember correctly. She was probably born in 1940/41 as we were a similar age, and she visited me at home in Cardiff, South Wales for several weeks in the summer of 1956. We wrote for many years, but we lost touch after her family moved to Colmar in the 1960s. I would like to find out if she got married and where she might live now. If I could find out a married name from the records, I might be able to find where she lives now. About a year ago, writing in French, I contacted a man with the same name as her brother in the area, whose information I found on the internet, but it wasn't the right one, although he very kindly replied to me. If anyone has any suggestions to help find her birth or marriage information, or to put me in touch with the correct Jean-Claude Lehmann, I would be most grateful.
