My great-grandmother whom I know as Caroline Lepique emmigrated to the U.S. on 16 Aug 1850 and married Ernst Fasold the following October in St. Louis, MO. All the US census data lists her birth location as Baden, but it has always been passed down to us that she was from Alsace Lorraine. I have never been able to locate her family, don't have any more information on their names or where they're from. I came upon a web site that indicated the existence of an 1836 census for the city of Strasbourg, with a Lepique listing. Does anybody have this data, and can they enlighten me if this might be my great grandmother's family. My information on her birth year ranges from 1828 to 1832. The application for her immigration says that her last known residence was Mannheim. However, no Lepique shows up on German databases. Any help will be appreciated. Castle Garden records show that she immigrated on the Nord America, origination Hamburg, that she was a farmer, and her first name was spelled Karoline. Any help will be appreciated.
