Jim, All the CD census of 1836 are from Bas Rhin one of the two " departements" of Alsace ( the other is Haur Rhin) The " département" Meurthe et Moselle and not Meurthe is one of the four countries of Lorraine ( like Moselle, Vosges and Meuse.) You don't find any information in the census of Bas-Rhin ( Bischwiller, Haguenau, Wissembourg are all towns of the Bas Rhin like Strasbourg.) I ask friends of Lorraine if they have an answer , I wait of an answer. Nicole
