Curt, Another suggestion: As you have suggested, Oberkischif may have been absorbed into Frankenthal or another town. Or the name of the village may be of a local dialect or the original writing may have been mistranscribed. Is the marriage certificate you have a religious one? If so, does it name the church? Is it signed by the pastor/priest? This could give you a major clue for further search. Gloria
