    3. Yes, I should have been more specific. We have all of the information that we need from Canadaian records, and are looking to link back to the place of origin. The Family Search records that Fred provides are very relevant, and I will now try to patch them together. Are there any emigration records from Wuertemburg? For example, it would have been nice to know if you have this entry from the FamilySearch databases. ====================== Household Record 1881 Canadian Census John GAILING M Male German 47 Germany Farmer C. It is possible that this is your John GAILING. The only way to be sure is to rent the indicated LDS microfilm (1187120) at your local LDS Family History Center and see if his birth date is also recorded. Also, if he was married in Germany, the marriage records of that era will give the birth date. ====================== IGI Individual Record FamilySearchT International Genealogical Index v5.0 Johann Friederich <Gailing> Christening: 27 MAR 1834 Evangelisch, Abstatt, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg Father: Johann Friederich Gailing Mother: Margarethe Sarah Binder Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record.
