    3. Hello, I am trying to get some background about migration from Alsace to New York in the 1830's. I wonder if someone on the list could set the stage-- economically, militarily, religiously--what was the climate in Alsace. I am tracking various families from Hatten and Rittershoffen in Bas-Rhin area. I would appreciate your help. Lisa upstate NY May your stride be strong, your smile wide and your hands be ready to help others.

    3. Jacob Schirck, Sr. and his wife Marie Marquerite Gisselbrecht came to America in 1834 from Muttersholtz in Bas-Rhin. I would be interested in learning about the political and economic climate from which they came. They crossed New York on the Erie Canal, to Buffalo and then headed south to settle on Yankee Bush Hill in Pennsylvania. For details of this family, pleaae see: http://home.tampabay.rr.com/centans/schrick.html Sharon Centanne Judy wrote: >Lisa, > >I have some information for you if you will email me >off list. > >Judy (diamndldy3@yahoo.com) > > > > >--- Lisa <mrdodger@aol.com> wrote: > > >>Hello, >>I am trying to get some background about migration >>from Alsace to New >>York in the 1830's.
