Paul, another remark: as far as I know, Trinity is usually celebrated on the 8th Sunday after Easter, i.e. in May-June, not in October. Then I am not sure how to make sense of this 1733 record. Paul, the pastor forgot the word "post" associated to Trinitatis. See the record on the previous page (# 70). In 1733, Trinitatis Sunday was 31 May. For old calendar issues in Germanic areas, see the famous "Grotefend". The reference is probably to the 20th Sunday "in", "of", or "after" Trinity. If I remember correctly, the church season known as Trinity begins after Pentecost and lasts until Advent begins, which would include October. Marsha L. Thanks. Here is a note from the transcriber: The month was hidden in the tight binding, but I have a book with a table showing when all the church liturgical days occurred for a given year. I looked up the 20th Sunday of Trinity 1733, and it fell on the 18th of October. Sorry I didn't cite my source: The Comprehensive Genealogical Feast Day Calendar, compiled by Bukke, Kristensen and Thomsen, published by Thomsen's Genealogical Center, PO Box 588, Bountiful, Utah 84010.
