[Honesti] Adolescens and [Honesti] Juvenis are used sometimes interchangeably and means, usually, just a bachelor. A man never married. I have noticed some authors to consistently use the different forms based on the age of the man. But, I wouldn't count on that as any kind of hard and fast rule. It may be that a particular individual author has a preference, but you'd want to make very sure of that. Might be more work than it is worth. I'd suggest you take another look. I personally would want more substantiation than just an assumption of what some writer of a document was thinking 150 or more years ago. It's tough though, we don't generally have lots of clues and I can understanding grasping for anything that seems to be a reasonable assumption or possible clue. Heaven knows, I've done it on less. I thought I had heard that during the 1800's when a person wanted to move from a particular town ,they had to get permission from the Mayor to do so. Does anyone know if this is so and secondly was a record of this move kept at the town hall? Thank you, Eugene Gutknecht

I received a "Domicilliary Card" from Metz in Alsace -Lorraine with recorded places my ancestor lived at. It was a copy of the card. Could this be what you are speaking about?
