    3. Aida and Gloria, you are both right. No Folbertsviller in Lorraine, but a Folpersviller, which has been included in 1971 to the town Sarreguemines (French name of Saargemünd). See: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folpersviller Aida: - Colmar is in Haut-Rhin, Alsace, whereas Sarreguemines is in Moselle, Lorraine; not close. - Habkirchen is in Saarland, Germany - HAAS is a very common surname in all areas that belong or belonged to the German linguistical sphere: Germany, Alsace, Moselle, etc. Good luck Etienne Le 29 juin 11 à 10:36, Aida Kraus a écrit : Thank you Gloria, Folbertsviller is in France now, it might have belonged to Lorraine at that time, looking at the historical milestones. Folbertsviller might have belonged to Habkirchen and I had people check there in the family books, but they could not find any Haas listed there either. The registration at Vienna says clearly that he is from "Volpertsweiler" and now I will have to look closer at births at this Folschviller! Thanks for this, have to find it on a map now and if it is in the Saargemünd area! The Haas people listed at family search are from Colmar, but unless I know the name of Jacob Haas father, I have nothing to go on. Unfortunately. Colmar is even closer to Folbertsviller, it was the German Volbertsweiler in 1763, and there are many Haas families at Colmar listed at family search. So I need the groom's parents names who may be listed at the wedding at Saargemünd, or a Family book entry giving Jacob Haass parents name to connect. I think I will ask the LDS family research center, if they have a microfilm for that time for the catholic registers at Saargemünd. Thank you so much for your effort! Good night! Or, perhaps someone has access to the catholic marriage register at Saargemünd where the parents of the groom might be listed. Any informational reply would be greatly appreciated as I find this lead at a dead end. Can anyone help me to verify Jakob Haass' location of birth, so that I could rent a microfilm from the LDS at Salt Lake City Utah, to extract the church register entry? 3. Hi, The Catholic community of Folperswiller was in the parish of Frauenberg prior to 1890. The Lutheran community of Folperswiller was in the parish of Sarreguemines. source: book "Das Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen". Frauenberg (Lorraine) is located about 2km of Folperswiller (Lorraine) which is located about 4km of Saargemünd /Sarreguemines (Lorraine).
