    1. [A-L] Fischer
    2. I have a Muttersholz 1707 birth record for David Uhland that seems to imply that a relative (listed as a Godmother here) is a fisherwoman. Is that likely? Here is the record: Göttlen Urßula Jacob Matthiß Bürger u Fischers zu ObernRhatsamh. Is this record saying that the Godmother Ursula (a documented relative of ours) is a citizen and fisherwoman in Ober-Rathsamhaußen? Or that her husband Jacob Matthiß (a documented relative of ours) is a citizen and fisherman in Ober-Rathsamhaußen? Thanks for any help. best, Paul

    3. Hi again Paul, according to the sentence, Jacob MATHIß is clearly the citizen and fisherman. To make it complete, the sentence is probably followed by "Frau" or "Hausfrau", isn't it? Fisherman was a common occupation in Muttersholtz and other places in the humid area called the "Ried". Today there is only ONE professional fischer in activity.
