Dear list, I have been searching for my Zimmerman ancestors for some years. They moved from Steffisburg in Switzerland to Alsace during the late 1690's and early 1700's. Initially settling near Markirch, St Marie aux Mines, they later moved to the Vosges area of Salm. I have searched many parish records with limited success because these Zimmermans were Anabaptist and some were Amish with Jakob Ammann. I am interested in working with a researcher in the area who may be able to access civil and governmental records. I appreciate any suggestions from the list. Robert Carpenter
