My name is Žan Koprivnik, I come from Slovenia and I'm a genealogist. I have a family branch that I have never suceeded to research due to a lot of mystery involved in the family. 3. Hello   Reinhardsmunster was once known as Neudorf. If it is the correct Neudorf, the records you are seeking will be found in the Marmoutier (annexes) for Reinhardsmunster/Neudorf. I'd love to hear if you find a connection.   Good Luck Stephan ________________________________ From: Ludwig Feist <ludwigf@gra.midco.net> To: alsace-lorraine@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, February 3, 2013 1:24 PM Subject: [A-L] neudorff One of my ancestors in bas-rhin circa 1778 references Neudorff as where they are from. 3. Looking for information on my great, great grandfather's family. He was Joseph Meyer, born May 1828 in Mothern, Alsace. I believe his parents were Blaise Meyer, born 1800 & Philippine Baumann born 1805 in Mothern. Joseph had 2 children, Blasius, born 1857 in Mothern and Mary Magdelena, born 1858 in Mothern. Story goes that Joseph's wife committed suicide so family came to USA in 1867 and settled in Logansport, Indiana. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you, Sandy Avery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

    3. Jim, thank you for the tips. I would gladly give any information if I had it. What I know about the family is relied on word of mouth. But still, I can write, what I know. The Zesser family lived in Krško (Gurgfeld) in Slovenia from 1792 till now. In 1792 or around that year Jacobo Zesser came to Krško. I can't find any information on him, the only thing I know is that he was born around 1770, where, I don't know. The family had a family tree with the crest which were lost in the WW2, when the citizens of Krško were transported to Concentration and Labour Camps around Europe. The only remain is this picture of the crest, that I included in the first message. That's all I know about the Zesser family. It is said they came from the area of Strasbourg. Thank you once again, Žan Koprivnik. 2013/2/2 Jim Andrews <jmjandrews@ameritech.net> > Zan, > You will receive a better response if you can provide any estimated dates > of birth and deaths, any given names, and the townland where they lived. > Did any of the Zesser family come to the US? 1. [A-L] ACHTZEHNER in HELLIMER?
    2. Gaby Uth
    3. Dear Gloria and Laura, many thanks for your informations on Hellimer. Especially for the link to the church books. My french is only rudimentary, but I guess that "manque 1744 - 1776" means a lack of church records because the records got lost?!?!? You are right Gloria, I will need a lot of patience. And Laura, if you are so familiar with Hellimer and could give me some assistance, if would be very friendly and helpful. At the first overview I could not find a name Achtzehner or similar in the online-records of 1739. I was in contact with Dave Dreyer in the Donauschwaben-List. He has the meaning that Achtzehner is born 10 years later in 1749. But if the records from 1744 till 1776 are missing, we can search for a long time without success. The names Schmitt and Gury are not (yet) in my list. I will spend the evening with the curch records and may be I will come back with further questions! Have a nice eving, bye for now! Gaby Uth

Hello, If you have the patience, go to http://www.archivesnumerisees57.com/mdr/index.html After lower box to agree to conditions (French); then see and click, Registres paroissiaux, click H, find Hellimer, put in your date 1739, click what comes up 'don't worry if dates don't match, just click; records start at 1737, on left side go to Image 21, that begins 1739 and good luck! 3. Hi! I'm new in this list. May I introduce myself: I am 59 years old, married, secretary and since 10 years active to find my ancestors. I started genealogy because my mother in law believed that her familytree is from the famous organ maker Silbermann (Alsace and Erzgebirge/Saxe). I found she is not, but I have started a great hobby. And I am very thankful for the support of experienced co-searcher. Till now I was searching in Germany only. But recently I expanded to BANAT, DONAUSCHWABEN. And found some relations to Alsace-Lorraine. One of the ancestors is Johann ACHTZEHNER, said to be from "Helma" or "Helmer" in Lorraine in 1739. Might this be Hellimer? Is there a chance to find out whether a Johann Achtzehner is born in +-1739 in Hellimer. If not, do you have any idee what Helma or Helmer could mean? Johann Achzehner was registered in Vienna 1770 for emigration to Banat. In February 1771 he married Susanne DUPPEN in Grabatz. Later on the family moved to Zichydorf, where Johann died in the age of 100. He was married 3 times, the 3rd marriage was in the age of 90. Your kind help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your reply! Cordial greetings, Gaby Uth (from Jüchen, Rhein-Kreis Neuss)

Perhaps our ancestors knew one another. :o) The names I am researching in that town are Schmitt and Gury. I have been through those records many times. I would love to help in any way I can.
