I couldn't have worked my way through the records I found without all the help I've received from the community here. I also enjoy trying to read the records myself before asking for help. You may feel less intimidated by the records after learning a few tidbits here and there. Stephanie, There is a Joseph Schewang listed in the 1870 census Richardson County, Nebraska with a wife, Julia. They both list Baden as their birth place. Joseph is 46 and Julia is 24 and they were married, according to the census, Feb 1870. As you did nort provide much information it is hard to find anything for you. Is this the couple you are looking for? It would help if you could provide some more information, anything, even if it approximated for the listers to help you. Hi, as Etienne said, the marriage register is not online, and not available at all at the Archives Départementales in Strasbourg. But the register is not lost. For about 3 years ago, I had access to this register and toke the pictures of the whole document, even if I was not related to Lupstein. My interest was Dettwiller, early an annex of Lupstein. At that time, the register was at the parsonage of Lupstein, empty today, and should be kept today at the parsonage of Dettwiller. I heard that the burial register should already be available, but I havn't had access to it. See http://genealogy.rohrbacher.net/tsd for several (=all) Soller's marriages of this register. Bernardi Sollers was from Bregens region, near Constance Lake, at the corners of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It seems that Angela KÖNIG (= KOENIG) lived in Lupstein (not specified in the record). It should be noticed that a duplicate of the birth, marriage and burial registers exists, covering the date span 1743-1787. These registers have been microfilmed : Eglise catholique.
