    3. John, It is always a courtesy to the others when making a query to indicate what information you already have. For example, it would have been nice to know if you have this entry from the FamilySearch databases. ====================== Household Record 1881 Canadian Census John GAILING M Male German 47 Germany Farmer C. Presbyterian Mary GAILING M Female German 47 Germany C. Presbyterian Caroline GAILING Female German 22 O <Ontario> C. Presbyterian Charles GAILING Male German 20 O <Ontario> Farmer Son C. It is possible that this is your John GAILING. The only way to be sure is to rent the indicated LDS microfilm (1187120) at your local LDS Family History Center and see if his birth date is also recorded. Also, if he was married in Germany, the marriage records of that era will give the birth date. ====================== IGI Individual Record FamilySearch™ International Genealogical Index v5.0 Johann Friederich <Gailing> Christening: 27 MAR 1834 Evangelisch, Abstatt, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg Father: Johann Friederich Gailing Mother: Margarethe Sarah Binder Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record. Source Information: Batch No.: C915291 1595 - 1949 1187120 ====================== If this is your John GAILING, it would be to you advantage to join the BADEN-WURTTEMBERG mail list. mailto:baden-wurttemberg-request@rootsweb.com?subject=subscribe At 02:00 AM 3/26/2008, you wrote: >From: "John Drake" <drake@mcmaster.ca> >Subject: [A-L] Gailing >To: <alsace-lorraine@rootsweb.com> > >We are searching for information on a John >(Johan/Johannes?) 3. I missed the original announcement, but family stories tell that my Alsatian ancestors were in Napoleon's army. My Nipperts were in Goersdorf and Preuschdorf at this time. I'd love to see if any were really in the military at that time. 1. [A-L] SANGLIER family - Tramont-Saint-Andre?
    2. Dear Listers, Does anybody know anything about the SANGLIER family of Tramont-Saint-Andre, please? It may be that my wife descends from them as the SANGLIER family appeared in London, England (around the Soho District) in the early 1800s and a Joseph SANGLIER was baptised at Tramont-Saint-Andre in 1765 according to the IGI. He might have been my wife's GGGG Grandfather. Yours, etc. Geoffrey Woollard in Cambridgeshire, England.
